WeHo Bistro Dinner
Last night I had the privilege of visiting a french bistro restaurant located in West Hollywood, the Weho Bistro, a beautiful little restaurant located at the corner of La Cienega blvd and Holloway Drive.
Parking was a breeze with a big parking lot right next to it, something that is very rare in the area or anytime you go to any place in LA.
The restaurant has a corner view of La Cienega blvd but the patio wraps around Holloway Drive which is a much less busy street, and to be honest, you kind of forgot that you were right in the city because of the ambiance with the beautiful lights and colorful flowers nestled around the outside area.
If you have ever been to their instagram account, your mouth has probably already started watering, if not- head right over @wehobistro! The menu had the exact same effect. It's one of those places you just want to have EVERYTHING and you can't really find yourself to commit to just one dish- which is why you should always bring a friend that likes to eat family style, always! Leave the selfish eaters at home - hehe, just kidding, maybe...
We were first served this very tasty mint infused water, that I took a lovely picture of but then accidentally deleted, SO [insert pretty water picture right here]!
Then the fun stuff really began.
There was delicious wine...
Oh wait, here's the pretty water too...
Then we tried the Cream of Mushroom soup and the French Onion soup with Swiss cheese and homemade croutons. The french onion soup tasted like something between a soup and a cheese fondue. So if you love cheese like me, you'll be in heaven. I'm also obsessed with mushrooms, I would count the days until mushroom picking season back in Europe because I loved it so much as a kid; and as an adult- but there's no mushroom picking going on over here in LA!
Are you drooling yet?
Then the owner drifted by with the Filet Mignon with peppercorn mushroom sauce and tomato Provençal, had to snag a picture...
Okay and this is when I did something I never done before!
I tried the escargot a la bourguignonne, aka snails in some yummy sauce [enter shocked face here]. I have always said no to trying this. But last night was the night. If I was going to do it anywhere, this would be the spot. And to my enormous surprise, I LIKED IT. Finished everything off!
And then I tried the Salmon Rillette...
AND the Avocado Burrata Toast, which by the way melts as soon as it reaches the tip of your tongue- EVEN the toast!
And then all the pretty light from the outside went away and I don't like shooting in artificial light- BUT we had an amazing Magret de canard, duck breast with a cognac and honey sauce and Dauphinoise potatoes and the Spaghetti Carbonara. So delicious! So were the macaroons, freshly made by one of their friends with a shop nearby- my favorite was the Mojito!
We finished the night off with a sampler of the desserts, bread pudding, Brazilian (?) chocolate cake, creme brule if I remember it right. Everything so delicious!
Big thanks for a lovely evening Weho Bistro and to all of your amazing personnel, I'll definitely be back to try the breakfast!
