Easy And Flavorful Hummus Recipe
To be honest… I didn’t even like hummus before. I would eat it but it wasn’t something I was craving.
NOW on the other hand, I’m obsessed. I almost always have some hummus in my fridge to put in my salads, as a side in my bowls or just nibble on as a snack with veggies.
Homemade of course…
I used to always make the hummus just original with no spices really but lately I’ve started adding this Za’atar seasoning blend that I whipped up at home and loving the extra flavors.
I’ve added it into this recipe but feel free to opt out or mix in your own choices of spices.
1/4 cup tahini
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 1/2 cups cooked chickpeas
4 gloves of garlic, minced
3 tbsp water
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp Za’atar seasoning
1/2 tsp paprika
Pinch of salt to taste
In a food processor, mix the ingredients in the order of the ingredient list, allowing the food processor to process each ingredient for about one minute before adding the next. It will make sure the hummus comes out smoother and nicely blended.
NOTE: Some people skin the chickpeas before adding into the hummus because it will make it smoother. To me, I don’t really care, it’s not a huge difference and I honestly don’t mind it not being silky smooth but if you do and you want to take that extra time, go for it!
Let me know if you decide to make it and how you liked it!
